HAPPY FALL!

Hey Everyone! I hope you had magnificent summers!  I certainly did – with a fantastic trip to NY (saw Newsies!) and concerts in beautiful venues such as Lake Tahoe!

Now everything is gearing up for the beginning of my 2014-15 concert tour!  I call it the “Mommy Tour” – I’m gone one week a month from the kiddos to play in venues all across the country.  Check out the APPEARANCES page for dates! I always love meeting folks after the shows at the CD table (CD purchase optional!).  Come say hi!  I’ll be keeping a photo log of the fans I meet during this tour!

This is the show that will be in venues across the country this year! Come!

Speaking of CDs … I recorded a new one this summer and can’t wait to share it with you!! “Susan Egan: Softly Broadway” is currently being mixed and will launch early 2015!! I teamed up with Cuban Jazz Great, Danilo Lozano (producing), his band, and my West Coast Musical Director, Stephen Cook, to record this “mellow mix” of Broadway ranging from Jerome Kern to Jeanine Tesori … Richard Rodgers to (his grandson) Adam Guettel. The incredible Cesar Mejia (Herbie Hancock’s engineer) is our recording master! Can’t wait to get this one out there!!!

I’m still busy with master classes, which I love, as well as a new event called “On Stage With Susan,” where students from my master classes perform with me during my concert. It combines the best of both worlds, and nothing surpasses putting “technique to the test” in front of an audience!    This summer I worked with students at California State University, Monterey’s Summer Arts, the students in the Musical Theatre Conservatory class at Notre Dame de Namur University, and the high school students at the Orange County School of the Arts.  In February I’ll be on stage with the students at Texas Christian University and in April, the students at Gardner Edgerton High School in Kansas! If your school or university is interested, have them contact me – this has become my favorite way to perform and teach!

In the animation world, I have an episode coming up in Season 2 of “Steven Universe” on Cartoon Network as Steven’s mom, Rose Quartz. What a blast!!  And if you didn’t catch it earlier this summer, you can download, buy, or watch (when CMT airs it), Jeff Dunham’s “Achmed Saves America.”  Once again, I’m the mom – though a very different one – super silly!

Rose may have died, but she returns to connect with her son in this season of “Steven Universe!”

I also had the chance to truly experience a Throwback Thursday, when Disney’s El Capitan Theatre screened “Hercules!” I joined directors, John Musker and Ron Clements on stage along with Ken Duncan (Meg’s animator) and Andreas Deja (Hercules’ animator).  What a nostalgic night!

The sweet thank you from Disney for spending Throwback Thursday at the El Capitan! LOVED IT!
